8th Year 12-14 Edition 3 – I Kings 14 l The Feast l   The Fall of 2 Kings – 1 Kings 14          Jan 8_2014 1 Kings 14 Return to Admenu Home Dear  Saints, On this day we prayerfully read, 1 Kings 14 together.  We see, Jeroboam sinning against God, which caused Abijah his son to be sick and die.  His mother consulted Ahijah. His prophesy for Jeroboam, who didn’t keep God’s commandments and follow God with all his heart, doing only that which was right in my eyes there is destruction of Jeroboam's house. Both Jeroboam and Rehoboam sinned. “30 And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually. 31 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. His mother's name was Naamah the Ammonite. And Abijam his son reigned in his place” 1 Kings 14:30-31.  English Standard Version (ESV).   The lesson here is pretty straight forward.  We as Christians should always keep God’s commandments and follow God with all our heart, doing only that which was right in God’s eyes. “Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so the LORD, the God of hosts, will be with you, as you have said. Hate evil, and love good, and establish justice in the gate; it may be that the LORD, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.” Amos 5:14-15 ESV.  Our God has saved us as a family, and we should do what is right as the family of God.  Go forth keeping the first thing first. That is salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus.  Whatever we do wherever we go, do so as a member of God’s family.
