Ezekiel
Sees the Lord’s Glory
Please join with
us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying
and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years. Gods Not
Dead!
“10 Finally, be
strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” Ephesians
6:10
Dear
Saints,
Today we prayerfully continue our
Feast by reading the book of Lamentations Chapter 1; “Ezekiel's vision of God, and of the angelic
host. (1-14) The conduct of Divine Providence. (15-25)A revelation of the Son of man upon his heavenly
throne. (26-28).
Overview; Ezekiel was one of the priests; he
was carried captive to Chaldea with Jehoiachin. All his prophecies appear to
have been delivered in that country, at some place north of Babylon. Their chief
object appears to have been to comfort his brethren in captivity. He is directed
to warn of the dreadful calamities coming upon Judea, particularly upon the
false prophets, and the neighbouring nations. Also to announce the future
restoration of Israel and Judah from their several dispersions, and their happy
state in their latter days, under the Messiah. Much of Christ will be found in
this book, especially in the conclusion.” - Matthew Henry Concise.
The first three
verses introduce Ezekiel a priest in the service of the most High God and he is
having a vision. The Holy Spirit of the
Lord came to Ezekiel (see
Ezekiel 1:1-14 )
in this vision he is explaining as best he can the Glory of God.
The providence
of
God (see
Ezekiel 1:15-25)
is
being expressed in all of
God’s
Glory.
Ezekiel
is trying to express the Glory
of God
on the throne;
“26 And above the
expanse over their heads there was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like
sapphire; and seated above the likeness of a throne was a likeness with a human
appearance. 27 And upward
from what had the appearance of his waist I saw as it were gleaming metal, like
the appearance of fire enclosed all around. And downward from what had the
appearance of his waist I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and there was
brightness around him. 28 Like the
appearance ofthe bow that is in the cloud on the day of rain, so was the
appearance of the brightness all around.
Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of
the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard the voice of one
speaking.” Ezekiel 1:26-28
English Standard Version (ESV). Prophesy and visions by the Holy Spirit filling the
people of God did not pass with the Old Testament; (see
Acts 2:17) the Holy Spirit is still alive in today’s
Church according to God’s Word. “21 Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive
with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.”
John 15:10 ESV. Remember this at all times Saints (see
1 John 2:15) while we live and serve God in the world we are
followers of Jesus. Let our every action
and word (see
Matthew 5:16) Glorify God in the
name of Jesus.
