Dear Saints,
Today we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of Jonah  Chapter 1;
“( Kings. 14:25 ) deliverance from out of the fish, rendered him a type of our blessed Lord, who mentions it, so as to show the certain truth of the narrative. All that was done was easy to the almighty power of the Author and Sustainer of life. This book shows us, by the example of the Ninevites, how great are the Divine forbearance and long-suffering towards sinners. It shows a most striking contrast between the goodness and mercy of God, and the rebellion, impatience, and peevishness of his servant; and it will be best understood by those who are most acquainted with their own hearts.
Jonah, sent to Nineveh, flees to Tarshish. (1-3) He is stayed by a tempest. (4-7) His discourse with the mariners. (8-12) He is cast into the sea, and miraculously preserved. (13-17) - Matthew Henry Concise
God is telling Jonah to go tell those Ninnies; (see Jonah 1:1-3) to repent from their wickedness and turn to the great I Am; Jonah runs from his ministry. Jonah boards a boat; God stirs the sea into a storm; the crew (see Jonah 1:4-7) is terrified and throws off cargo.  While all this is going on Jonah sleeps until the captain wakes him (see Jonah 1:8-12) Jonah tells the crew “ "I am a Hebrew, and I fear the LORD, the God of heaven, who made the sea. He tells them to throw him into the sea and they do and the sea became calm; (see Amos 6:8-14) and many of the crew worship began to worship our God!  However he doesn’t drown because God still has a job for Jonah (he catches a big fish from the inside); “17 And the LORD appointed a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. Jonah 1:17 English Standard Versions (ESV).  Listen up Saints there is a lesson here for us!  Might not like the people God put’s in our path (see 2 Peter 3:9) but it’s our job to pray for God’s will to be done in their life and love them like Jesus does. 14 The friendship of the LORD is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant. 15 My eyes are ever toward the LORD, for he will pluck my feet out of the net. Psalm 25:14-15 ESV.  We have nothing to fear and no reason to hate the sinners (see Luke 12:4) it’s the sin against God and the fact that their life will end in their death still unforgiven.   Don’t hide your light from sinners in fear (see 2 Timothy 1:7 ) let your light shine to make you fishers of men.
Do your hear Jesus knocking at the door of your heart?  Don’t wait another minute to leave, change or quit anything (see Revelation 3:20) Jesus is at knocking at your door this minute.  He wants you to come just as you are!   Do you hear Jesus calling you?  Will you answer Him today? Do you want to find true happiness, peace and purpose in your life?  If the answer is yes to any of these questions please click the following link; admenu.com/calling.htm
