Today’s FeastMay 6, 2015 – Leviticus 15About Our Righteousness!
Please
join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about
fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s
Word in approximately three years.
“16
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another,
that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a
righteous man avails much.”
James
5:16
New
King James Version (NKJV).
Dear
Saints,
Thank
you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue the Feast in
Leviticus Chapter
15;
“
Laws
concerning ceremonial uncleanness.
-
We need not be curious in explaining these laws; but have reason
to be thankful that we need fear no defilement, except that of
sin, nor need ceremonial and burdensome purifications. These laws
remind us that God sees all things, even those which escape the
notice of men. The great gospel duties of faith and repentance are
here signified, and the great gospel privileges of the application
of Christ's blood to our souls for our justification, and his
grace for our sanctification.”
-
Matthew
Henry Concise.
Today
in Leviticus we read
about God's concerne for our bodily cleanliness;
”32
This is the law for one who has a discharge, and for him who emits
semen and is unclean thereby, 33 and for her who is indisposed
because of her customary impurity, and for one who has a
discharge, either man or woman, and for him who lies with her who
is unclean.' "”
Leviticus
15:32-33,
NKJV. God
loves his people so much he gives instruction on dealing with
cleanliness
and our righteousness. What
about our righteousness without Christ Jesus, we would be in bad
shape:
“But
we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are
like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like
the wind, Have taken us away.”
Leviticus
14:33-35
NKJV.
So
does God only send Jesus to save righteous people? No Jesus came
and saved those who were lost in sin;
“17
For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one,
much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of
righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.”
Romans
5:17
NKJV. That
is it! Our righteousness is received by the grace of God from
Jesus.
If
the Lord is willing I will post The Feast again tomorrow.
