God’s Word Is The Light!

Return to Admenu – Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue the Feast in 2nd Samuel Chapter 16; “Ziba's falsehood. (1-4) David cursed by Shimei. (5-14) Ahithophel's counsel. (15-23)” - Matthew Henry Concise. Ziba’s flattery to king David is really a falsehood. David accepts the curses by Shimei, thinking possibly the curses are from God. Ahithophel’s counsels Absalom to do wicked things. “20 Then Absalom said to Ahithophel, “Give your counsel. What shall we do?” 21 Ahithophel said to Absalom, “Go in to your father’s concubines, whom he has left to keep the house, and all Israel will hear that you have made yourself a stench to your father, and the hands of all who are with you will be strengthened.” 22 So they pitched a tent for Absalom on the roof. And Absalom went in to his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel. 23 Now in those days the counsel that Ahithophel gave was as if one consulted the word of God; so was all the counsel of Ahithophel esteemed, both by David and by Absalom.” 2 Samuel 16:20-23, ESV. Dear Saints, what can we say, except to seek counsel from God? Keep your eyes on Jesus and his Word, testing men’s words always holding them up to the Light which is God’s Word! “1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:1-5, ESV. Keep the first thing first, that is salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. If the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow. Our salvation depends completely on God! We are the Saints that Jesus sacrificed his life to pay in full for our sin, when we repent and accept Jesus. He will come to get every Saint; “36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.” Matthew 24:36, ESV.
