The Best of the Feast
Who Do You Hang Out With?
Please join with us sharing God’s
Word daily. We spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every
word in God’s Word in approximately three years.
“24 But nothing,
not even my life, is more important than my completing my mission. This is
nothing other than the ministry I received from the Lord Jesus: to testify
about the good news of God’s grace.” Acts
20:24, Common English
Bible (CEB).

Dear
Saints,
Today we prayerfully, continue
to Feast in 2 Chronicles 21. Today
we see the wicked reign of Jehoram. His end was miserable. He
didn’t follow after the ways of his father. “19 For almost
two years he grew steadily worse, until two days before his death, when his
intestines fell out, causing him to die in horrible pain. His people didn’t
make a fire in his honor as they had done for his ancestors. 20 He
was 32 years old when he became king, and he ruled for eight years in
Jerusalem. No one was sorry he died. He was buried in David’s City but not in
the royal cemetery.” 2
Chronicles 21:19-20, English Standard Version (ESV). The question
might be why didn’t he cling to God? These verses tell us because; “he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as the house
of Ahab had done, for the daughter of Ahab was his wife…’ (see 2
Chronicles 21:6} So he shouldn’t marry her because of her
father? Her father Ahab did evil in the sight of the Lord, more
than all who were before him. (see 1
Kings 16). Just as a twig is bent so shall it
grow. If she would have departed from the ways of her father and
turned to God then things would have turned out different. That’s
why God’s Word made reference to her and her father. “[Take
Up Your Cross and Follow Jesus] 23 And he said to all, “If
anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily
and follow me. 24 For whoever would save his life will
lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.” Luke
9:23-24, ESV. We think people will change if we give them a
chance. Jesus tells us a couple of things here that may truly give
us pause for thought. The first is; “15 Do you not
know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the
members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! 16 Or
do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body
with her? For, as it is written, “The two will become one flesh.” 17 But
he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him.” 1
Corinthians 6:15-17, ESV. So what I see is if she had turned
from her sin and accepted Jesus as her savior she would no longer be a
prostitute. In that case you would be marrying a believer not a
prostitute. The second thing God’s Word tells us when considering a partner
is; ‘[The Temple of the Living God] 14 Do
not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has
righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with
darkness?” 2
Corinthians 6:14, ESV. Don’t put a yolk on a colt and a horse. You can’t
change anything once you are yoked. The person must be a child of
God when you partner up with them. Now I’ve only been married 48
years, and already I know that you can’t have self-satisfaction unless your
mate is satisfied. Be careful with whom and where you hang out, if
you hang out at the barber shop long enough you will get a haircut. You
know it always feels better when you hang out with people who think like
you. Thank Jesus and let your light shine for the comfort of those
around you. If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast
again tomorrow.
