Sharing Wherever & With Whomever! – 2 Kings 25         Feb 10, 2013 - 2 Kings 25 Return to Admenu Home Dear  Saints, Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 25.  After 37 years King Jehoiachin was released out of prison. No person can say that that their life will not be good again, because no person can know the mind of God. In our world today Jesus brings about freedom from sin. Sin is the cancer that hurts us; Jesus alone can free sinners. “29 So Jehoiachin put off his prison garments. And every day of his life he dined regularly at the king's table, 30 and for his allowance, a regular allowance was given him by the king, according to his daily needs, as long as he lived.“ 2nd Kings 25:29-30 English Standard Version (ESV).  We can never know the mind of God; however his purpose for us is conveyed in God’s Holy Word.  “15 for you will be a witness for him to everyone of what you have seen and heard. 16 And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name.’” Acts 22:15-16 ESV.  That is God’s purpose for us Saints we are a witness for Jesus!   Let your lamp burn brightly keeping the first thing first!  That is salvation through the blood of the Lamb.  Let’s continue to share Gods love, wherever we go, with whomever we meet. The Holy One anointed you, and you all know it. 21 I haven’t been writing this to tell you something you don’t know, but to confirm the truth you do know, and to remind you that the truth doesn’t breed lies. 22 So who is lying here? It’s the person who denies that Jesus is the Divine Christ, that’s who. This is what makes an antichrist: denying the Father, denying the Son. 23 No one who denies the Son has any part with the Father, but affirming the Son is an embrace of the Father as well. 24 Stay with what you heard from the beginning, the original message. Let it sink into your life. If what you heard from the beginning lives deeply in you, you will live deeply in both Son and Father. 25 This is exactly what Christ promised: eternal life, real life! 26 I’ve written to warn you about those who are trying to deceive you. 27 But they’re no match for what is embedded deeply within you—Christ’s anointing, no less! You don’t need any of their so-called teaching. Christ’s anointing teaches you the truth on everything you need to know about yourself and him, uncontaminated by a single lie. Live deeply in what you were taught. 28 ¶ And now, children, stay with Christ. Live deeply in Christ. Then we’ll be ready for him when he appears, ready to receive him with open arms, with no cause for red-faced guilt or lame excuses when he arrives. 29 Once you’re convinced that he is right and righteous, you’ll recognize that all who practice righteousness are God’s true children. DEVOTIONAL: “WHO DO YOU BELONG TO”??? Can you say, “I belong to God”? As we begin 2013 it is imperative that you know Jesus the Son of God and the only door to salvation. It feels good to belong and it is lonely and painful not to have that security of knowing you are saved. If you are depending on anything else like good works, church membership or attendance to make heaven then please read these verses again. Concentrate on the essentials of salvation. It starts with confession of who Jesus is. (vv23 & 24). You can have eternal and real life through Christ. (vv. 24). You can have Christ’s anointing, stay with Christ, Live deeply in him. The biggest event in your life will be when Christ returns so be ready to welcome Him. PRAYER THOUGHT: Thank you Christ for redemption paying for my sins. Will you pray today and claim his as your Savior and Lord. He loves you and is your passport to heaven. Today is the day for salvation. Vengeance is Gods! – 2 Kings 24        Feb 9, 2013 - 2 Kings 24 Return to Admenu Home Dear  Saints, Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 24.  God spared King Josiah, whom He loved for his faithfulness.  After that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, sacked Judah and took King Jehoiakim prisoner.   The king of Babylon made Mattaniah king of Judah and changed his name to Zedekiah; “19 And he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, according to all that Jehoiakim had done. 20 For because of the anger of the Lord it came to the point in Jerusalem and Judah that he cast them out from his presence.“ 2nd Kings 24:19-20 English Standard Version (ESV).  God is the same yesterday, today and forever.  He never lies and he took vengeance on God’s people because of their hard hearts.  God’s Word tells us how to live with a glad heart.  “[Thanksgiving] We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing.” 2nd Thessalonians 1:3 ESV.  It is easy to complain and even be bitter to other.  That is not Gods plan for us Saints.  Don’t harden your heat towards one another but thank God for whatever circumstance you find yourself in.  Vengeance is not ours, however love is.  Remember faith comes by hearing God’s Word.   Keep the first thing first!  That is salvation through the blood of the Lamb.  Our goal is to serve God with an open heart holding all those who love Jesus and those who will, up in prayer and deed. 8th Year 12-14 Edition 3 –II Kings 23 l The Feast l A willing heart? – 2 Kings 23 Feb 8, 2013 - 2 Kings 23 Return to Admenu Home Dear  Saints, Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 23.  King Josiah turns to the Lord, when he hears the words of the Book of the Covenant.  There was no king like Josiah, who turned to the Lord with all his heart and soul. There was no Kings before or after him that turned to God like Josiah.   The Lord was still angry with Judah, because of Manasseh’s sin.  Our merciful God took Josiah, before he kindled his wrath against Judah and Jerusalem; “19 because your heart was penitent, and you humbled yourself before the Lord, when you heard how I spoke against this place and against its inhabitants, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and you have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you, declares the Lord. 20 Therefore, behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace, and your eyes shall not see all the disaster that I will bring upon this place.’” And they brought back word to the king.“  2nd Kings 24:19-20 English Standard Version (ESV).  Because Josiah’s heart was with God he never saw or endured the dissolution of the Holy Land.  Because we can’t imagine the mind of God or the manner of life with him we almost never see death as a blessing. Sometimes we may wish death of our enemies while they are still in sin.   “[ Love Your Enemies ] “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” Matthew 5:43-45 ESV.  It is easy to recognize that our earthly ways are not God like.  We can see here in Matthew that God is not willing that any should depart this life in sin.  Therefore we need to keep the first thing first!  That is salvation through the blood of the Lamb.  Our goal is to serve God with a willing heart. 8th Year 12-14 Edition 3 –II Kings 21 l The Feast l Death is a blessing!  – 2 Kings 22        Feb 7, 2013 - 2 Kings 22 Return to Admenu Home Dear  Saints, Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 22.  In deference to what we have been reading in the second book of kings, Josiah the king of Judah is a Godly man.   Because he is right with the Lord God, he is rewarded with death before the wicked reap what they have sewn; “19 because your heart was penitent, and you humbled yourself before the Lord, when you heard how I spoke against this place and against its inhabitants, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and you have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you, declares the Lord. 20 Therefore, behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace, and your eyes shall not see all the disaster that I will bring upon this place.’” And they brought back word to the king.“  2nd Kings 22:19-20 English - Standard Version (ESV).   I suppose there were many there who said; “Why has God taken him, it is unfair he was a Godly man?”  God alone knows everything and death is a blessing that allows some to avoid the pain in an ungodly world.  Remember God created us in his image eternal beings.  Death was given to man as a blessing so he could escape an ungodly eternity here separated from him.  “O you who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the lives of his saints; he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.” Psalm 97:10 ESV.   God rewards his people with death in this temporary world.  Then gives them eternal life in in His kingdom.  Keep the first thing first!  That is salvation through the blood of the Lamb.  Remember we are looking to God however, we don’t understand everything He has in store for us.  We have seen this mercy before.
