Continue Sharing God’s Love!

Today’s Feast

Jan. 12, 2016 Acts 4

Continue Sharing God’s Love!

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26-28, English Standard Version (ESV)
.

Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in Acts Chapter 4; “
Peter and John imprisoned. (1-4) The apostles boldly testify to Christ. (5-14) Peter and John refuse to be silenced. (15-22) The believers unite in prayer and praise. (23-31) The holy charity of the Christians. (32-37)
” -
Matthew Henry Concise.

Because the priests, depended on the people for their living, they were afraid that many people would follow Peter and John, because of the miracle performed at the temple gate, the priests had them imprisoned. In spite of the persecution the apostles boldly testify to the love and power Christ. Peter and John loved the Lord and would not be silenced. Just as we do today the believers unite in prayer and praise. The holy charity of the Christians. “32 Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common. 33 And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. 34 There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold 35 and laid it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need. 36 Thus Joseph, who was also called by the apostles Barnabas (which means son of encouragement), a Levite, a native of Cyprus, 37 sold a field that belonged to him and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet.Acts 4:32-37, ESV. Does this mean we should run out and sell all of our possessions and give them to the church? Certainly not, as good stewards we must continue to provide for our family as well as support God’s family. If you sold your home or your car or any possessions to try and appease God it would be like trying to buy salvation. However if out of your abundance you sold property to help house and feed the needy in our church, because of love, God will certainly bless you. To make decisions that would adversely affect your home and family would not glorify God. Make every effort to continue sharing God’s love and gifts at every opportunity. [His Steadfast Love Endures Forever] Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of heaven, for his steadfast love endures forever.Psalm 136:1,26, ESV. There is only one name under heaven by which people can be saved. That is why we keep the first thing first, that is salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life!  If the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Don’t get caught up in “religion”, it is about a relationship. Our salvation depends completely on God! We are the Saints that Jesus sacrificed his life to pay in full for our sin, when we repent and accept Jesus. He will come to get every Saint; “36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.Matthew 24:36, ESV. He Was Healed By?

Today’s Feast

Jan. 11, 2016 Acts 3

He Was Healed By?

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? Psalm 118:5-6, English Standard Version (ESV)
.

Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in Acts Chapter 3; “A lame man healed by Peter and John. (1-11) Peter's address to the Jews. (12-26)” - Matthew Henry Concise.

The apostles were together at the temple, as John and Peter approached this temple there was a lame man asking for alms. The spirit moved them he was healed by the Holy Spirit. When he tried to give the credit to Peter and John, they were quick to tell him that he was healed by our God. Peter’s addresses the Jews, reminding them what Moses spoke of concerning the savior . “22 Moses said, ‘The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen to him in whatever he tells you. 23 And it shall be that every soul who does not listen to that prophet shall be destroyed from the people.’ 24 And all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and those who came after him, also proclaimed these days. 25 You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your offspring shall all the families of the earth be blessed.’ 26 God, having raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you by turning every one of you from your wickedness.Acts 3:22-26, ESV. When we are saved into the family of God, we no different than the Jews peter was addressing. We must turn from wicked and dark ways to join God’s family.  Keep the first thing first, that is salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.  If the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Drop In To God’s Church!

Today’s Feast

Jan. 10, 2016 Acts 2

Drop In To God’s Church!

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:15-16, English Standard Version (ESV)
.

Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in Acts Chapter 2; “The descent of the Holy Spirit at the day of Pentecost. (1-4) The apostles speak in divers languages. (5-13)Peter's address to the Jews. (14-36) Three thousand souls converted. (37-41) The piety and affection of the disciples. (42-47)” - Matthew Henry Concise.

The apostles were together, praying knowing that what Jesus promised would be delivered. Then we see the descent of the Holy Spirit on the apostles on the day of Pentecost. The Holy Spirit rested on the apostles like tongues of fire. There was no babel talk; they are speaking in diverse languages. Peter’s address to the Jews saying; “Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy”, he iterated this prophesy is for you and I. The Christian movement started out on fire there. Because of their witness that day, three thousand souls converted. Yes we should be involved in our church, if someone says your acting pious, thank them and point out the piety and affection of the disciples. “46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved. Acts 2:46-47, ESV. When you were saved you were sealed by the Holy Spirit. God poured out the Holy Spirit on you to teach and guide you what to say. Don’t drop out into the world; drop in to God’s Church. If the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

We Need Not Help God!

Today’s Feast

Jan. 09, 2016 Acts 1

We Need Not Help God!

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21, ESV.

Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in Acts Chapter 1; “This book unites the Gospels to the Epistles. It contains many particulars concerning the apostles Peter and Paul, and of the Christian church from the ascension of our Saviour to the arrival of St. Paul at Rome, a space of about thirty years. St. Luke was the writer of this book; he was present at many of the events he relates, and attended Paul to Rome. But the narrative does not afford a complete history of the church during the time to which it refers, nor even of St. Paul's life. The object of the book has been considered to be, 1. To relate in what manner the gifts of the Holy Spirit were communicated on the day of Pentecost, and the miracles performed by the apostles, to confirm the truth of Christianity, as showing that Christ's declarations were really fulfilled. 2. To prove the claim of the Gentiles to be admitted into the church of Christ. This is shown by much of the contents of the book. A large portion of the Acts is occupied by the discourses or sermons of various persons, the language and manner of which differ, and all of which will be found according to the persons by whom they were delivered, and the occasions on which they were spoken. It seems that most of these discourses are only the substance of what was actually delivered. They relate nevertheless fully to Jesus as the Christ, the anointed Messiah.
Proofs of Christ's resurrection. (1-5) Christ's ascension. (6-11) The apostles unite in prayer. (12-14) Matthias chosen in the place of Judas. (15-26)” - Matthew Henry Concise.

Here we see proofs of Christ’s resurrection, backed by witness of His missions and resurrection. Prior to his ascension Jesus explains that he must leave for the Holy Spirit to descend. After appearing to the apostles for 40 days, Christ ascended. The apostles unite in prayer to choose a replacement for Judas. “24 And they prayed and said, “You, Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which one of these two you have chosen 25 to take the place in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.” 26 And they cast lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.Acts 1:24-26, ESV. They casts lots in hope that God’s will not theirs will choose Judas replacement. We need not help God, just pray that his will be done. If the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow.
