24 But nothing, not even my life, is more important than my completing my mission. This is nothing other than the ministry I received from the Lord Jesus: to testify about the good news of God’s grace.Acts 20:24, Common English Bible (CEB).

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 21.  Today we see the wicked reign of Jehoram.  His end was miserable.  He didn’t follow after the ways of his father.  “19 For almost two years he grew steadily worse, until two days before his death, when his intestines fell out, causing him to die in horrible pain. His people didn’t make a fire in his honor as they had done for his ancestors. 20 He was 32 years old when he became king, and he ruled for eight years in Jerusalem. No one was sorry he died. He was buried in David’s City but not in the royal cemetery.2 Chronicles 21:19-20, English Standard Version (ESV). The question might be why didn’t he cling to God? These verses tell us because; “he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab had done, for the daughter of Ahab was his wife…’ (see 2 Chronicles 21:6}  So he shouldn’t marry her because of her father?  Her father Ahab did evil in the sight of the Lord, more than all who were before him. (see 1 Kings 16).   Just as a twig is bent so shall it grow.  If she would have departed from the ways of her father and turned to God then things would have turned out different.  That’s why God’s Word made reference to her and her father.  [Take Up Your Cross and Follow Jesus] 23 And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.” Luke 9:23-24, ESV.  We think people will change if we give them a chance.  Jesus tells us a couple of things here that may truly give us pause for thought.  The first is; “15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! 16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, “The two will become one flesh.” 17 But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him.1 Corinthians 6:15-17, ESV.  So what I see is if she had turned from her sin and accepted Jesus as her savior she would no longer be a prostitute.  In that case you would be marrying a believer not a prostitute. The second thing God’s Word tells us when considering a partner is; ‘[The Temple of the Living God] 14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?2 Corinthians 6:14, ESV. Don’t put a yolk on a colt and a horse. You can’t change anything once you are yoked.  The person must be a child of God when you partner up with them.  Now I’ve only been married 48 years, and already I know that you can’t have self-satisfaction unless your mate is satisfied.  Be careful with whom and where you hang out, if you hang out at the barber shop long enough you will get a haircut.  You know it always feels better when you hang out with people who think like you.  Thank Jesus and let your light shine for the comfort of those around you.  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 20.  Today we see the end of Jehoshaphat’s reign.  He started out seeking God moving in the direction of God’s kingdom.  In the end he turned his back on God. “35 After this Jehoshaphat king of Judah joined with Ahaziah king of Israel, who acted wickedly. 36 He joined him in building ships to go to Tarshish, and they built the ships in Ezion-geber. 37 Then Eliezer the son of Dodavahu of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, “Because you have joined with Ahaziah, the Lord will destroy what you have made.” And the ships were wrecked and were not able to go to Tarshish.2 Chronicles 20:35-37, ESV. God knows our strength and our weak nesses. He promised that we would be given burdens that are not too heavy (see Matthew 11:27-29).  “24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.1 Peter 2:24, ESV. Jesus removed the heaviest burden from us when he gave his life for our sins.  He overcame the harshest penalty (of death) when he arose from the grave.  I know of no other god that did what Jesus did when he died for you and I.  So be of good cheer, do not grieve the Holy Spirit and keep Jesus at the forefront of your life. If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Dealing With Difficult People?

Dealing With Difficult People?

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

19 Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; James 1:19, English Standard Version (ESV).

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 19.  Jehoshaphat visits his kingdom and appoints certain Levites and priests and heads of families of Israel, to give judgment for the Lord and to decide disputed cases.  “11 And behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the Lord; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the governor of the house of Judah, in all the king's matters, and the Levites will serve you as officers. Deal courageously, and may the Lord be with the upright!”2 Chronicles 19:11, ESV. Our Lord knows we are not perfect. God expects us to keep faith in Jesus.  If we love the Lord with all our heart and seek him with all our might, we won’t need to worry about what people or our civil leaders are doing to or for us.  “For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.Romans 5:6-8, ESV.  So when we see our civil leaders or for that matter anyone doing things that don’t favor our situation what action do we take.  Americans have the right to complain aloud about our leaders, ask yourself is that truly profitable?  I believe a letter sent without malice would go much farther in inspiring them to take care. From time to time most of us have dealt with a difficult person! Dealing with difficult people is a part of life. How should we handle those difficult people? Our first reaction may be to get angry and upset, but this is not how God wants us to respond.  Here is one example from God’s Word; “23 Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. 24 And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, 25 correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, 2 Timothy 2:23-25, ESV.  Keep the faith and let your light shine.  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

How Many Religions Lead To Heaven?

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.Romans 12:10, English Standard Version (ESV).

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in a double portion in 2 Chronicles 18.  The King of Israel heard the profit say he would die in battle.  So the king of Israel disguised himself, and they went into battle.  Just as we said before you cannot hide from God.  “33 But a certain man drew his bow at random and struck the king of Israel between the scale armor and the breastplate. Therefore he said to the driver of his chariot, “Turn around and carry me out of the battle, for I am wounded.” 34 And the battle continued that day, and the king of Israel was propped up in his chariot facing the Syrians until evening. Then at sunset he died.2 Chronicles 18:33-34, ESV. God knows the thoughts you have. He knows who you are, where you are, and what’s on your heart. “He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,Hebrews 1:3, ESV.  There is no hiding from the glory of God.  Jesus is our light and men that don’t know Jesus flee from that light.  They love evil and hate the light because it exposes their sin.  Faith justifies those that believe in Jesus.  Salvation is truly the gift of God and no man comes to the father except by Jesus!  “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.John 14:6, ESV.  There are no other paths to God!  Only your personal relationship with Jesus will get you to heaven.  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Where Should I Look?

Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.Romans 15:2, English Standard Version (ESV).

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in a double portion in 2 Chronicles 16-17.  in chapter 16 we see the end of King Asa’s reign and the results of his lack of faith in God.  In chapter 17 his son Jehoshaphat is off to a good start with God.  “The Lord was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the earlier ways of his father David. He did not seek the Baals, but sought the God of his father and walked in his commandments, and not according to the practices of Israel. Therefore the Lord established the kingdom in his hand. And all Judah brought tribute to Jehoshaphat, and he had great riches and honor. His heart was courageous in the ways of the Lord. And furthermore, he took the high places and the Asherim out of Judah.2 Chronicles 17:3-6, ESV. Those of us, who have a good start with our faith in the Lord Jesus, should keep faith to the end.  “10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.Romans 5:10, ESV.  Jesus died for our sin while we were still sinning. Because he pulled us up out of our worldly ways, we should keep faith in Jesus until God calls us home.   As long as we hold onto our faith we will never fall.  “29 He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.”Matthew 14:29-30, ESV.  Keep your eyes on Jesus, not the condition of the world around us.  Look to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.Galatians 5:13, English Standard Version (ESV).

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 15.  When God’s people found themselves suffering they turned to the Lord, and sought him, God heard them.  The people make a solemn covenant with God.  “17 But the high places were not taken out of Israel. Nevertheless, the heart of Asa was wholly true all his days. 18 And he brought into the house of God the sacred gifts of his father and his own sacred gifts, silver, and gold, and vessels. 19 And there was no more war until the thirty-fifth year of the reign of Asa.” 2 Chronicles 15:17-19, ESV. We know the grace of God is sufficient for all he asks of us.  If an earthly father can love unconditionally despite a child’s mess, how much more does our heavenly Father love us regardless of our uncleanness?  “20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.Galatians 2:20, ESV.  Jesus died for us that we would be free from sin.  Look around Saints, we have the one thing that none of the false religions have.  All the religions that are following false gods have one thing in common.  Their followers have been told that they must make the sacrifice to be saved. Only Jesus paid the full price for the salvation of God’s followers. I know there is no other name under heaven, by which we are saved than Jesus.  We are justified because of the faith we hold on to in Jesus.  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

What Does My Life Reveal?

The Best of the Feast

What Does My Life Reveal?

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

10 I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.1 Corinthians 1:10, English Standard Version (ESV).

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 14. In the Feast for today we read about Asa’s piety.  He tore down the places where false gods were worshiped.   He even removed his own mother as Queen because she worshiped false gods.   King Asa loved the Lord with all his heart and might and God strengthened his kingdom.  “12 So the Lord defeated the Ethiopians before Asa and before Judah, and the Ethiopians fled. 13 Asa and the people who were with him pursued them as far as Gerar, and the Ethiopians fell until none remained alive, for they were broken before the Lord and his army. The men of Judah carried away very much spoil.2 Chronicles 14:12-13 , ESV. God lifts up and even defends those whose lives demonstrate their love for Him.  “16 By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.1 John 3:16, ESV.  I guess the question is; what does my life reveal about me.  Is my life as a Christian a smoke screen to cover my true love?   God can see my heart; he knows what I struggle with in my flesh.  Do I really love and appreciate what Jesus means to me?  Do I give God the glory when I avoid sin?  Do I truly repent when I sin (yes I still sin) and turn to my Lord for love and forgiveness.  God knows my heart and if the answer is yes; He will continue to bless me.  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.
