Dear Saints,

As we prayerfully read 2 Chronicles 28, we see what happens when people turn away from the one true God. Because of the wicked reign of Ahaz in Judah. – God gave Israel this victory because was angry with the wicked ways of Judah. “22 In the time of his distress he became yet more faithless to the Lord—this same King Ahaz. 23 For he sacrificed to the gods of Damascus that had defeated him and said, “Because the gods of the kings of Syria helped them, I will sacrifice to them that they may help me.” But they were the ruin of him and of all Israel.” 2 Chronicles 28:22-23, ESV.  It never works to commit halfway to God. We both confess with our mouth and believe with our heart; “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Romans 10:9-10, ESV. Our bible doesn’t tell us to put on half the armor of God.  The Word doesn’t tell us to put on as much armor as suits us (see Ephesians 6:11).  Jesus doesn’t ask us to follow him for part of the journey.  God doesn’t ask us to like him with part of our heart.  When you pick up your cross and follow Jesus, you’re in for the whole marathon.  Saints it is true we commit to Jesus all the way or not at all. If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in two chapters 2 Chronicles 26 and 27.    Uzziah’s reign was good in Judah because he started out pleasing God. When Uzziah was strong, he stopped recognizing God as his protector. His pride led to his destruction.  Uzziah attempted to ignore God’s order to burn incense. “16 But when he was strong, he grew proud, to his destruction. For he was unfaithful to the Lord his God and entered the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense. 17 But Azariah the priest went in after him, with eighty priests of the Lord who were men of valor, 18 and they withstood King Uzziah and said to him, “It is not for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the Lord, but for the priests, the sons of Aaron, who are consecrated to burn incense. Go out of the sanctuary, for you have done wrong, and it will bring you no honor from the Lord God.”’ 2 Chronicles 26:16-18, ESV.  Somehow the flesh tends to lead us away from Jesus when everything is going great.  We need to cling to the Lord whether things are great or we are seeking his help. Many years ago I read a sign in front of a church building; “Jesus is not a spare tire to be used in case of emergency.”  Remember to give God the Glory in all things and seek Jesus in all circumstance.  “[Christ the Wisdom and Power of God] 18 For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18, ESV.  Our righteousness in in Jesus and not of ourselves.  Keep your eyes on Jesus in all situations. Let us take a lesson from the apostle Paul; “11 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. 12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.Philippians 4:11-12, ESV.  We need to keep giving God the glory in all things including abundance and need. If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 25.    Amaziah, king of Judah wasn’t an enemy to religion.  It was evident that King Amaziah didn’t have a personal relationship with God.  That would count as a forgone position when he worships the idols of Edom. Amaziah would not listen to the word of God, because he had sought the gods of Edom.  Amaziah’s rash challenge would cause his kingdom to be delivered into the hand of their enemies.  “25 Amaziah the son of Joash, king of Judah, lived fifteen years after the death of Joash the son of Jehoahaz, king of Israel. 26 Now the rest of the deeds of Amaziah, from first to last, are they not written in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel? 27 From the time when he turned away from the Lord they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish. But they sent after him to Lachish and put him to death there.” 2 Chronicles 25:25-27, ESV.  Where exactly did Amaziah fall from God’s grace?  Look at the second verse; “he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, yet not with a whole heart.”  If we are going to commit ourselves to Jesus we must love God with all our heart.  “29 Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”’ Mark 12:29-31, ESV.  God doesn’t want a lukewarm relationship.  Jesus says because some are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, He will spew them out of His mouth (see Revelation 3:14-16). “[ Fulfilling the Law Through Love ] 8 Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.” Romans 13:8, ESV.  Let your light shine and love God with all your heart.  If you sincerely love the Lord with all your heat and love others as you love yourself you’ll be never cold and always hot! If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 24.    Joash started out doing what was right in the eyes of the Lord.   He was zealous in repairing the temple.  Then what happened? King Joash falls into idolatry; He is slain by his servants.  “27 Accounts of his sons and of the many oracles against him and of the rebuilding of the house of God are written in the Story of the Book of the Kings. And Amaziah his son reigned in his place.2 Chronicles 24:27, ESV.  Now after the death of Jehoiada the princes of Judah came and tickled the king’s ears. They abandoned the house of the Lord, the God of their fathers, and served a false god and the idols. It seems that Joash took bad advice from his peers.  The wrath of God came upon Judah and Jerusalem because they turned from God. Don’t allow the enemy to tickle your ears; “For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing. Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.Romans 13:6-7, ESV.  Don’t listen to those who would entice you to disobey the civil authorities.  Don’t listen to anyone who would turn you away from Jesus.  This is how you can check on your advisors; when someone gives you advice you should hold it up to God’s Word.  If it doesn’t line up with the light of God it isn’t advice for us! If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

17 But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children's children, 18 to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments.Psalm 103:17-18, English Standard Version (ESV).

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 23.  When Ahaziah mother Athaliah saw that her son was dead, she killed all the royal family.  However her sister Jehosheba had hidden Ahaziah’s son Joash.   In the seventh year of Ahaziah’s wicked rein her sister Jehosheba brought Joash out of hiding.  God’s people rejoiced and restored the throne to Joash a son of David.  Then Jehoiada the priest led the people to take down the house of Baal and instituted reform.  “20 And he took the captains, the nobles, the governors of the people, and all the people of the land, and they brought the king down from the house of the Lord, marching through the upper gate to the king's house. And they set the king on the royal throne. 21 So all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet after Athaliah had been put to death with the sword.2 Chronicles 23:20-21, ESV.  For all that transpired in bringing Joash to his rightful place as king, we must give God all the glory.  God told David in 1st Kings 2 that he would raise up his decedents to be on the throne.  Likewise Jesus made provisions for us.  “27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.John 10:27-28, ESV.  God is never slack in his Word.  Everything we read in the Old Testament shows us our awesome God never lies.  So if we believe in our hearts that Jesus died for our sins and we invite him into our life, we will have eternal life!  There is no room for disbelief. If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 22.  Today we see another wicked reign by Ahaziah, the son of Jehoram.  Just like his father he didn’t follow after God. His mother was his counselor.   “3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother was his counselor in doing wickedly. 4 He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, as the house of Ahab had done. For after the death of his father they were his counselors, to his undoing.2 Chronicles 22:3-4, English Standard Version (ESV). God reveals his downfall early in these scriptures.  Don’t make the mistake of taking advice from ungodly people.  Seek God in all matters, seek him in prayer, look for and expect God’s answer. If you seek advice from people again pray about their answer hold them up to the light of God’s Word.  Remember this scripture; “23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,Romans 3:23-24, ESV.  Look at counselor’s life; does it reflect the light of Jesus?  Are they of good reputation at your church?  Ask yourself; does their advice line up with God’s word?  If the answers are yes; take their advice to Jesus in prayer. Pray in Jesus name expecting an answer and God will bless you with one. If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

24 But nothing, not even my life, is more important than my completing my mission. This is nothing other than the ministry I received from the Lord Jesus: to testify about the good news of God’s grace.Acts 20:24, Common English Bible (CEB).

Return to Admenu – Admenu’s Alternate Site

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 21.  Today we see the wicked reign of Jehoram.  His end was miserable.  He didn’t follow after the ways of his father.  “19 For almost two years he grew steadily worse, until two days before his death, when his intestines fell out, causing him to die in horrible pain. His people didn’t make a fire in his honor as they had done for his ancestors. 20 He was 32 years old when he became king, and he ruled for eight years in Jerusalem. No one was sorry he died. He was buried in David’s City but not in the royal cemetery.2 Chronicles 21:19-20, English Standard Version (ESV). The question might be why didn’t he cling to God? These verses tell us because; “he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab had done, for the daughter of Ahab was his wife…’ (see 2 Chronicles 21:6}  So he shouldn’t marry her because of her father?  Her father Ahab did evil in the sight of the Lord, more than all who were before him. (see 1 Kings 16).   Just as a twig is bent so shall it grow.  If she would have departed from the ways of her father and turned to God then things would have turned out different.  That’s why God’s Word made reference to her and her father.  [Take Up Your Cross and Follow Jesus] 23 And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.” Luke 9:23-24, ESV.  We think people will change if we give them a chance.  Jesus tells us a couple of things here that may truly give us pause for thought.  The first is; “15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! 16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, “The two will become one flesh.” 17 But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him.1 Corinthians 6:15-17, ESV.  So what I see is if she had turned from her sin and accepted Jesus as her savior she would no longer be a prostitute.  In that case you would be marrying a believer not a prostitute. The second thing God’s Word tells us when considering a partner is; ‘[The Temple of the Living God] 14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?2 Corinthians 6:14, ESV. Don’t put a yolk on a colt and a horse. You can’t change anything once you are yoked.  The person must be a child of God when you partner up with them.  Now I’ve only been married 48 years, and already I know that you can’t have self-satisfaction unless your mate is satisfied.  Be careful with whom and where you hang out, if you hang out at the barber shop long enough you will get a haircut.  You know it always feels better when you hang out with people who think like you.  Thank Jesus and let your light shine for the comfort of those around you.  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.
