Remember asking God is an important part of the Christian life.  When you pray have faith, expect results.  Because he didn’t have faith in God this captain was not be blessed; “1 But Elisha said, “Hear the word of the Lord: thus says the Lord, Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.” 2 Then the captain on whose hand the king leaned said to the man of God, “If the Lord himself should make windows in heaven, could this thing be?” But he said, “You shall see it with your own eyes, but you shall not eat of it.“ 2nd Kings 7:1-2 English -Standard Version (ESV).  God wants your prayer, believe God for a blessing! “16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. 18 Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.” James 5:16-18 English Standard Version (ESV).   Pray and let your light shine, keep the first thing first. 8th Year 12-14 Edition 3 –II Kings 6 l The Feast l God’s track record? – 2 Kings 6           Jan 22, 2013 - 2 Kings 6 Return to Admenu Home Dear  Saints, Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 6.  While the sons of the prophets enlarge their abodes, one of them drops an ax in the water.  God’s prophet throws a sick in the water and the iron ax head floats to the top for retrieval. Elisha knows God will deliver him even when others cannot see it. “15 When the servant of the man of God rose early in the morning and went out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was all around the city. And the servant said, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” 16 He said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.  “Samaria besieged, A famine, The king sends to slay Elisha.  2 Kings 5:15-17 English Standard Version (ESV).  “32 Elisha was sitting in his house, and the elders were sitting with him. Now the king had dispatched a man from his presence, but before the messenger arrived Elisha said to the elders, “Do you see how this murderer has sent to take off my head? Look, when the messenger comes, shut the door and hold the door fast against him. Is not the sound of his master's feet behind him?” 33 And while he was still speaking with them, the messenger came down to him and said, “This trouble is from the Lord! Why should I wait for the Lord any longer?” 2 Kings 5:25-27 English Standard Version (ESV).   Why should I wait on the Lord?  Just as God restored the ax head, he will protect you.  Ask God to open your eyes to show you how you are protected. Don’t get upset when the messenger brings bad news.  Trust God and wait on him!  ““[Ask, and It Will Be Given] “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8 ESV.  While you are depending and waiting on God you can talk to Him.  Do his will and ask Him for you needs.    Keep the first thing first. That is salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus.  Look back at God’s track record with Elisha.  Jesus gave you salvation and his Word.  He will never leave nor forsake you. Glory to God!
