The Answer Is? August 25, 2017 – Psalms 17 Today’s Feast Psalms Chapter 17 - “David’s integrity. (1-7) The character of his enemies. His hope of happiness. (8-15)”  - Matthew Henry Concise   Return to Admenu Home Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Psalms 17.  David is asking God to hear his earnest prayer in chapter 17.  He prays in earnest expecting God to answer.  “ 6 I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God;     incline your ear to me; hear my words. 7 Wondrously show your steadfast love,     O Savior of those who seek refuge     from their adversaries at your right hand.“  Psalms 17:6-7 - English Standard Version (ESV).   Whatever we pray for we are asking in the name of Jesus.  We who are saints have been sealed with the Holy Spirit.  Praying to impress men and not truly expecting an answer grieves the Holy Spirit.  Praying in earnest expecting an answer no matter what it is receives the peace of God. “Great peace have those who love your law; nothing can make them stumble.” Psalm 119:165 ESV. Today while Jesus is still calling! (See Revelation 3:20) answer him, listen can you hear him?  He won’t call forever, now is the time to answer his call. Back To School? August 23, 2015 – Psalms 15-16 Today’s Feast Psalms 15-16 Chapter 15 - “The way to heaven, if we would be happy, we must be holy. We are encouraged to walk in that way.”   Chapter 16 – “This psalm begins with expressions of devotion, which may be applied to Christ; but ends with such confidence of a resurrection, as must be applied to Christ, and to him only.  - Matthew Henry Concise   Return to Admenu Home Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Psalms 15-16.  David is asking God who will live in his house.  I know many of you are parents, teachers or students.  This is a time when we can be excited, scared perplexed.  The student may be worried about teachers, clothes old friends, bullies etc.  These are the same things the parents are worried about not only for themselves and also the others they love and live with.  “1 O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent?     Who shall dwell on your holy hill? 2 He who walks blamelessly and does what is right     and speaks truth in his heart; 3 who does not slander with his tongue     and does no evil to his neighbor,     nor takes up a reproach against his friend; “ Psalms 15:1-3 - English Standard Version (ESV).   What kind of kids will Jack or little Jill be thrown in with this year at school?  How will they the other kids treat me?  Why are they teaching evolution on creation?  It is indeed a scary time for society.  This is the time of year we need to remind our loved ones to call on and cling to Jesus also to treat others as Jesus treated you.  Wherever you go take this advice from our Lord Jesus; “16 “Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.”  Matthew 10:16 ESV. “[ I Love the Lord ] I love the Lord, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy. In Whom We Trust? August 21, 2013 – Psalms 11-12 Today’s Feast Psalms 11-12 Chapter 11 – “David’s struggle with, and triumph over a strong temptation to distrust God, and betake himself to indirect means for his own safety, in a time of danger”   Chapter 12 – “ The psalmist begs help of God, because there were none among men whom he durst trust.”  - Matthew Henry Concise   Return to Admenu Home Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Psalms 11-12.  There are times that we like David are tempted to take things into our own hands. That is what we see David doing here in chapter 11.  In chapter 12 we see him come to the conclusion that only God can be trusted always. “ 7 You, O Lord, will keep them;     you will guard us from this generation forever. 8 On every side the wicked prowl,     as vileness is exalted among the children of man. - Psalms 12:7-8English Standard Version (ESV).   David learned to trust in the Lord by (see 1 Samuel 17:34-37) experience.  As we follow Jesus our experience will tell us to trust the Holy Spirit (see John 14:26) to bring God’s Word to our remembrance.  “He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?” Romans 8:32ESV.
